The skies were crimson red, the color of blood. So was the earth. The sun. The clouds. Everything was bloody, from all the blood that had been spilled onto the land. Trees were dead, birds did not sing, grass was as red as everything else.
This was all because somehow, at some point, the gates to hell opened. Literally. Demons and monster poured out of the rift, killing, massacring, destroying anything in sight. Humans, half-elves and elves banded together to try to stop them, to no avail. The demons just kept coming, and they fed on the flesh of the beings who opposed them. Those who were still alive either went to the last mountain fortresses or lived every day in fear, waiting for the inevitable doom of the coming demons.
But there were still warriors. Brave ones who fought in the mountain fortresses, and protected the last of the human race. One of them was a holy man, who used his mighty magical power to force back the hordes of the evil powers. His name was Bastion Edeas, Bishop of Light.
"Mistress, what are you doing?" asked a man to Bastion, as he was preparing his healing staves and spellbooks for another oncoming raid. Another one who mistaked him for a woman. Not surprising, as his skinny features, long blonde hair, and frail qualities were very close to those of a woman. He just sighed, smiled at the man, and said "I'm not a woman. And I'm preparing for battle, so please go and take shelter." The man suddenly realized he wasn't a woman, and quickly apologized and ran out of the room, praying for forgiveness.
"Sigh. Let's get going, shall we?" said the elf, going to the tip of the formation on the castle walls. The armies of the demons could be felt coming, and their roars and screeches rang as echoes along the mountainside....

"O spiteful gods, what have ye brought down upon our world." an unknown priest.
half a mile away from the fortress, in a shadowy valley. A pitch black gate rose from the shadows. from the gate emerged 6 wolf like creatures. shortly after the wolfs emerged what appeared to be a jaguar.
One of the wolfs lifts its head and releases a long deep howl. the gate then closed. and the other wolfs(and the Jaguar) shifted a little becoming longer and thinner, their claws lengthening and becoming more curved. Then the creatures began to run out of the valley in a tight pack. the Jaguar and head wolf leading the rest.
when they were withing viewing range of the fortress the head wolf stopped. The rest followed suit. The wolf reverted to her Humanoid form, a young woman wearing her signature blue trench coat. "well this seems intriguing, don't you agree Tsuki?"
The Jaguar then opened to revealed what appeared to be a young girl carrying a pair of swords as well as a small arsenal of weaponry. "Sure seems like an interesting world miss Aqua" the Jaguar returned to its original appearance, and stayed by Tsuki.
"Well shall we go investigate? that is if you want to." she said as she turned her head to her friend.
"whatever you wish to do Miss Aqua." she said plainly
"you really aren't much fun sometimes Tsuki. and stop calling me miss its starting to bug me." said Aqua as she began shifting into her wolf form. She then turned her head to Tsuki and the Liquid Golem next to her (the jaguar). "follow her orders, however do not engage in combat, and try not to get in her way." she then turned to Tsuki and asked "ready?"
"yes" She stated as she returned to the jaguar, and got ready to run.
Aqua then raised her head and unleashed another long howl. then they sprung into action running towards the fortress.
"And Thus another interesting experiment begins. Were it shall all end not even I know" thought Aqua as they began to near the fortress under siege.

Unflurling his cloak about him, Jace looked upon the mountain fortress that he had picked from the mind of the other human he had the misfortune of allowing to die. Not quite because he was human, but rather because he could have led them straight to castle courtyard. Instead he had ended up just under a kilometer away. Gathering his cloak about him, he began moving boldly towards the fortress, ignoring the fact that his black cloak stood out even amongst the red of the surrounding landscape.
As he walked, he tried once more to remember what had led to him finding himself in the grey shades, a blissful miracle where he was the closest to his true self than in his other "lives". He could not remember what had cause his last death, only that it had involved the ultimate destruction spell...so it may have been what led to this hell now called earth.
Shrugging, Jace decided that it was in his best interest to aid those upon the hill, and maybe use the Unholy arts to seal, or at least unstabilise, any nearby daemon gates.
As he walked, he also noticed that the lines of power seemed to be arrayed in a pentagonal grid format, which ment that the realm would be much more stable than his 'home' realm, but much more powerful if they were broken. How he had crossed the veil from the elegant but fragile spirals of his home reality into this place, not even he could begin to guess...but he better make sure those creatures didn't take it, that was clear enough.
Heh...I bet 'Dark' Jace would have probably tried to sell every human soul there for power... he thought as he continued towards the fortress, which was now visibly under seige.

Pretty soon, the army of demons marched into view. Well, marched is not very fitting, actually. More along the lines of "SDIBFIAUB RAWR!!!" as the ran towards the walls. Everyone cursed when they came in, except Bastion, of course. He was a bishop, after all.
(OCC: From now on, I',m going to base the world mainly on Fire Emblem, it that's ok with you. It won't be too confusing, I promise.)
They cursed because even in the distance, it was clear that this was a major attack. Gargoyles and Evil Eyes flew towards the fortress, the claws of the gargoyles dripping red blood, some with red grins and few bits of intestine in their mouth. Entombeds (zombies) and Bonewalkers (skeletons) ran, some mounted on some Mauthe Dogs. The Entombed's rotten flesh was pus green, and it had razor sharp claws (it seemed that it was true. Your nails DO keep growing). Mauthe Dogs ran with vicious glee, as they approached their next meals.
"By the Shining...St. Elimine, grant us a miracle..." said Bastion, before taking command once again. "Let's go people! Magic users, start casting! Archers, Snipers, Marksmen, ready your bows! Spear throwers, ready the javelins! Ballista, at the ready! Catapult, be ready! We shall not let these foul beasts taint the walls of our sanctum! In the name of the gods, we fight!"
A rallying battle yell went amongst the troops. The sound of bending bows, clanking spears, and mutterings ran across the wall. However, one sound did not fit. It was a blood-curdling scream, coming from the- By the gods, a Gargoyle broke the ranks and was speeding this way. Bastion took the tip of the wall, and said "No one do anything! This one is not worth your energies and ammunitions. This one is mine!"
Bastion flipped open his spellbook to the first page. This spell will suffice for such a weak enemy. Bastion read out for just a second, a small light shining from the book and the elf. "Holy...Light!"
Suddenly, a small ray of focused light hit the Gargoyle. Now, if this was from any magic user, the Gargoyle would have shrugged it off. However, this was Bastion, the Bishop. Bishops were trained in monster killing. Anything the Bishop did, the damage against the dark forces would at least triple.
The Gargoyle screamed as it fell, body flailing. It hit the floor with a thud, and it's blood splattered. More Gargoyles joined the fray, attacking separately. Bastion calmly took each one down with the same spell. The ease of it raised the morale of the soldiers, who felt blessed for such a warrior in the group.
"Get ready everyone! This is just the tip of the iceberg! Malus Destructo Lucis Dos..." Said the elf, as he drifted off into casting, and the echo of a wolf's howl resonated in the mountains.

"and thus the bloodshed begins." [near the fortress] as the creatures began to attack the fortress Aqua noticed the response from the sentient species within the fortress. "interesting".thought Aqua to herself. "Tsuki the priority is first to test the mobile Golem's armor version. second to acquire undead and demon test subjects."
"acknowledged" responded Tsuki
Aqua then turned to the fortress she began to growl[liquid wire]. From Aqua wires began to shoot out to her Golems. the 5 golems began to run in a far looser, far more offensive pattern. Tsuki and her Golem began to vear of from Aqua's wolf pack.
"lets get this started then" she said as the Jaguar began to shift yet again. this time however it wrapped itself around Tsuki like armor. she then drew her blades, and began to smile. "Metsu" she shouted as she slashed at Zombie. the undead then began to literally dematerialize. She then jumped with amazing speed and grace and disintegrated 3 more. "the Golem's speed form seems to be quite useful. now to gather Aqua's test subjects." She then jumped at a gargoyle atemting to scale the walls of the fortress. "Metsu" she stabbed one of her blades through its head and the pore creature began to disintegrate. "that should do for test subjects then. lets stat really testing this new armor" she then jumped into the fray yet again. Ready to tear apart anyone who gets in her way.
Aqua, on the other hand, was running with her wolf pack up the fortress' walls. The bodies of shreaded creatures who got caught up in her pack's wire trap, falling to the ground around Aqua.Who simply paid it no mind. She had been intrigued by the fortress' design as well as the little creatures fighting the onslaught of these dark beings within its walls. As she finished climbing the walls of the fortress she saw an amazingly intriguing sight. a large group of weak little creatures atemting to fight off the beasts. one in particular drew her attention. A tall humanoid creature dressed in long white robes. He was blasting the creatures with bolts of light. She shifted to her humanoid form and summoned her 13 dolls. she turned to the golems "you are to take humanoid form and aid the inhabitants of this fortress. kill what you must. Scatter!" the 5 Golems changed shape and proceeded to follow her orders.
She then turned and began to walk towards the creature dressed in white robes, tearing apart any creature that got too close with her dolls (since they are made of liquid she can make them grow blades at will). Once she got close to the humanoid creature "what ja reading?"she asked in the most innocent tone imaginable. like a curious little kid.(with 13 bloody dolls right behind her back.)

Continuing to walk toward the walls of the citadel, Jace ignored the demons that rushed by, allowing the humans within to destroy the demons as the attempted to swarm.
However, his own humanoid shape caused several of the shambling undead turned toward him, reaching out almost to embrace them in order to force him to join their ranks against their still living cousins. Jace would have none of that, and with a simple thought, broke a nearby line of power, and collected the magical 'blood' that gushed forward from the broken line into the palm of his hand, constantly compressing the raw power with his mind's sheer power into a rough sphere of dark purple energy.
"Doom Bolt:.."
Reaching out with his hand, Jace pushed the bolt out toward the weaklings that dared to annoy him. As the bolt speed toward it's victim, Jace said two words just before the impact with the leading corpse.
"Realm Shaker!"
At the finishing of his spell, the missile burst into hundreds of glimmering crystal shards, which covered the group that had turned to engage him. The shards flew true, and not one shard missed it's intended victim, and the entire front of the zombies began to leak a black slime. However, the undead had long since stopped caring for their flesh, and continued forward not slowed down at all by the apparently weak spell.
However, the Realm Shaker did more than just pepper it's victims.
Suddenly each of the shards exploded violently, the unnatural purple-red flames rushing out and tearing the bodies apart in a massive display of force. Limbs, skin, muscle, and bone soon began to litter from above as the parts that had survived the multiple simultaneous blasts responded to gravity and fell. Walking through the shower, Jace cast a minor binding spell to create an 'umbrella' against the gore rain around him. Using the variation of the sanctioned spell also allowed him to meld the line of power he had ruptured for his spell to a small degree.
Deciding to save himself time, Jace gathered his cloak and blinked onto the wall, near the skilled mage who continuously sent out light beams much weaker than his own variation, but none the less effective.[/b] He idly thought as he re-established his orientation.
Next to the mage seemed to be the most absurd being he had ever seen: looking over the mage's shoulder like some child, yet utilizing powerful magics to control multiple puppets, stained red with the blood of its previous beings.
The Unholy art though, had a slight unintended consequence: that line of power continued through the fort into the same exact line that the leader of the resistance was using, and although it did not consciously stop his spell, it was a noticeable disturbance that normally did not ever happen. That disturbance painted a large metaphorical arrow to jace as he blinked into existance next to the group, as his hands still 'glowed' with the dimension's essence.

"Fight on, warriors! We will never lose against these evil souls! We ar-" "What ja reading?"she asked in the most innocent tone imaginable, like a curious little kid. "Huh?" Bastion turned to see a child-like form staring at his book of spells, with dolls behind her (was that a Puppet-master style spell?) which...WHERE FILLED WITH THE BLOOD OF OTHERS AND WERE SPROUTING BLADES?! Who was this person, and how...Nevermind. Bastion had more important things to care about. Like, for example, WHO LET THAT GUY OUT IN FRONT OF THE MONSTERS?! OR THAT GIRL WITH THE TWIN SWORDS?!??!?! UGH!!! Bastion took a breath to calm himself, and looked at the girl, saying "Uh, yes. I see you are using very aggresive Puppet Master-Style magic or techniques. I am reading a very powerful Light-elemental spell to destroy most of these creatures. If you can't fight, which I doubt by looking at your dolls, please take shelter. If not, get those other non-living beings you are controlling to help us out." Said Bastion, poiting to the dolls and the golem. He noticed them due to their Mana signatures, which were close to unexistent and very different from any living being. "Especially you, my dear girl. Your Mana signature is much different from a human, an elf, or even a half-elf. Are you some kind of other race, or maybe some spirit? It would be interesting to discuss this after the bat-" Suddenly, the man who was fighting the demons up there appeared right next to Bastion. Bastion gasped and almost hit the guy in the face with his staff, but remembered he was killing demons, so he was probably on their side. "And so appears another person!" Said Bastion. Of course, in his mind, he said "And so appears another weirdo!" Anyway, he acted like if everything was normal. After all, how the world was today, nothing and everything could be expected. "Almost forgot to introduce myself! My name is Bastion Edeas, High Bishop (although I prefer Light-Magic User) of the Church of Saint Elimine. May her blessing be with us, and nice to meet you. Now, if you would excuse me..." Bastion opened his book to the page of his 4th most powerful spell. The energies were geing gathered for long enough. He looked onwards to the hordes of dark beings (which were being bombarded by spells, arrows, javelins, catapult shots, and ballistae shot) and said in a loud voice "O' Bright Light of Judgment, I Command Thee! Gatherest Before Me, and Unleash Thine Power!" Again, the book itself seemed to shine, and this time, a little light started to flitler from the demons. The demons, in defiance, spat and hissed at the light, charging at it. Bastion raised his hand, and as the glyph from beneath him shined ever so brightly, he shouted "Begone! Luce!" Suddenly, the light from within the monsters grew to a giant sphere, growing and consuming everything in it's path. A reeeally big ball of light stood in the middle of the army, and suddenly, it exploded with a supernova of light, destroying everything inside. It burned the ground, and the other monsters screeched and roared in anger. They rushed faster, knowing that now there was something truly powerful within those walls. "Whew! That was hard, but did you see the look in that ogre's face as he was consumed by the light? Awesome! Take the power of teh gawds, you freaking monsters!" Bastion said, getting pumped in the fight. Leader Bastion still stood, but Holy Man Bastion retreated to give way to Holy Magical Mercenary Leader Bastion. (OCC: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bas99rpCx98&feature=related the spell Lucius is using is where this spell was based from.)
